The long-awaited Windows 10 Creator’s Update releases next Tuesday, 11th April. Free to all Windows 10 users, it also includes support for both VR and MR content via headsets licensed by third party manufacturers such as Lenovo and Dell.
Featuring 6-degrees-of-freedom inside-out positional tracking, Microsoft expects to realise performance advantages with its hardware integrating with the OS, which is currently not available to competitors such as Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
Although this VR hardware won’t be available to the general public until the end of the year, developers can expect to start receiving the Acer Windows Mixed Reality Development Edition in the next few weeks.
