Intel unveils its all-in-one VR headset, Project Alloy

Intel has revealed its own all-in-one VR unit known as Project Alloy.

The headset contains all the necessary components to run VR games, with its own computer, visual display, battery pack, and sensors all built into one unit.

“We can take the virtual world into the real world. You can interact with the virtual world. We believe the capabilities Alloy introduces is truly significant," said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich.

Realities collide

The unit is a little bulky compared to other VR units, but doesn't need to be connected to a computer like the HTC Vive, and likely offers better performance and more control than the Gear VR.

Project Alloy is currently in development, with no word on when it might be released.
