Fast Travel Games announces new VR game publishing arm

Swedish VR developer Fast Travel Games is expanding its business to provide publishing services to other VR game developers. Patrick Liu, a games industry veteran of more than 15 years of experience and most recently Head of Games at Mojang Studios, will head up the publishing arm as Fast Travel’s Head of Publishing.

As a leading VR-exclusive studio, Fast Travel Games is well-positioned to act as a publishing partner for smaller devs looking to break into the market or grow their businesses. Publishing services include funding, access to first-party platforms, top-tier marketing and PR, certification processes, quality assurance, storefront optimization, localisation, age ratings, music licensing and more.

Over the past few years, Fast Travel Games has grown exponentially. Driven by the success of its catalog of titles, particularly on the rapidly-growing Oculus Quest platform, Fast Travel has doubled its headcount to nearly 50 employees in the last 12 months. Earlier this year, the studio raised $4 million in funding led by Nordic firm Brightly Ventures to bring new games to market. The company’s most recent launch, the critically-acclaimed VR horror game Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife, was among the top titles on the Oculus charts at launch.
