It's not exactly a hardware overhaul, but the announcement that the most popular VR headset in the world is doubling its storage capacity is still welcome news. The base Oculus Quest 2 will come with 128GB storage as standard at the exact same price of £299/$299 from August 24th.
Users can still opt for the larger - and more expensive - 256GB at £399/$399, but this upgrade to the entry model sees Oculus continuing its drive to bring VR to the mainstream at an affordable price. Not only does the increased storage mean that users can install more games on their headset, but it will also help delay obsolescence as file sizes inevitably grow.
The 64GB model will no longer be offered for sale.
