Facebook and Supercell have partnered to continue celebrating mobile gaming smash hit Clash of Clans' five-year anniversary with an AR experience starring the game's Builder. The partnership is part of a continued anniversary celebration event, which has seen the Builder ‘leave’Clash of Clans in search of a new job. The video announcing his departure has seen over 53 million views on YouTube.
Using the AR Studio of Facebook's Camera Effects tool, players can interact with the Builder's face by performing actions to the camera. They can also flip the camera and place the Builder in the real world on their screen.
Leo Olebe, Director Of Global Games Partnerships at Facebook said, "Using the AR Studio tool on Facebook's Camera Effects Platform, Supercell is giving Clash fans a chance to celebrate and become a character most deserving of some love. We're proud to team up with Supercell, and we're happy to finally give the Builder a chance to work on some new, hopefully more rewarding projects."
