“AltspaceVR is going to live on.” That’s the good news to be found on the social VR company’s blog.
Last month, AltspaceVR announced that it would close on 3rd August, prompting Oculus co-founder, Palmer Luckey, to ask Twitter if he should try to save it from closing.
There’s no word whether Luckey is involved, but the blog explains that, “We’re now deep in discussions with others who are passionate about AltspaceVR who want to guarantee that our virtual oasis stays open”. It even goes so far as to say, “You don’t need to find another place to meet your friends in virtual reality. AltspaceVR is not closing down”.
AltspaceVR advises SDK developers that their work still has, “A vibrant home”.
