WordPress users can now create and publish their own VR content, starting with 360 photos and videos - regular photos and panoramas can also now be in VR. So far, Wordpress has tested and confirmed compatibility with Cardboard, Gear VR, Daydream, Rift, and Vive.

Users can upload VR content as they would any other content using one of two VR short codes:

or

[vr url=path-to-photo.jpg view=cinema]

Keeping it simple

WordPress want to encourage bloggers into uploading VR content by making it easy for them, “Our goal is to make publishing VR content as simple as publishing text or photos to the web - just add VR content to your site and anyone with a web browser can instantly enjoy it.”
