VRChat has secured $4m Series A funding led by HTC. Other investors include Brightstone VC, GVR Fund and Rothenberg Ventures. The social VR service will benefit from the involvement of HTC Vive as a key investor and strategic partner.
VRChat intends to use the investment to ‘power the future of the metaverse’, both in the consumer and enterprise space.
CEO, Graham Gaylor said, “Our goal is to enable anybody to create their own social VR experiences. Partnering with HTC gets us that much closer to achieving that, and driving social experiences for VR forward”.
The Series A funding round comes almost a year after the company’s initial seed round of $1.2m.
