Sword Art Online exhibition is… online, best in VR

A new virtual exhibition has recently opened celebrating classic anime, Sword Art Online. The English language EX-CHRONICLE - Online Edition supported by Sony can be experienced in VR or viewed online and runs until March 10th.

Based upon a previous Japanese event from last year, the exhibition features anime materials and an immersive world view of the globally popular anime, including a four-sided theatre video. Users will be able to pick up SAO weapons and fight the Boss Battle 'The Skull Reaper' with friends in real time.

Visitors can also purchase official merchandise produced exclusively for this event, including real-world clothing and online avatars.

Now available in Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, and United States, the exhibition is free to access, but some content will only be available to ticket holders for around £25 ($33). This one-time fee enables repeat access until the end of the event.

No doubt, fans will want to log in at 9PM PT on March 5th for a motion capture live performance by ReoNa, whose voice will be familiar from the TV show.
