HoloLens Begins Shipping To UK Customers This Week

UK customers who have ordered the Microsoft HoloLens Development Edition at £2,719 or the Microsoft HoloLens Commercial Suite at £4,529, should expect to see their HMDs arrive soon, as shipping begins next week on November 30th.

Both versions are the same when it comes to hardware, which includes a Clicker, carrying case, charger and cable, microfibre cloth, nose pads and overhead strap. The Commercial Suite’s higher price is due to its software additions, which includes:

Data Security: BitLocker data encryption and secure boot is enabled to provide the same level of security protection as other Windows devices.
Identity: Azure Active Directory and credentials with PIN unlock.
Kiosk Mode: Allows users to limit which apps are running to enable demo or showcase experiences.
Mobile Device Management (MDM): Allows multiple HoloLens devices to be managed simultaneously using software like Microsoft Intune.
Windows Store for Business: Allows companies to set up an enterprise private store, containing only its apps for HoloLens usage.
Windows Update for Business: Controlled OS updates to devices and support for long term servicing branch.
Work access: Allows anyone in an organisation to remotely connect to the corporate network through a virtual private network using HoloLens, as well as access Wi-Fi networks that require credentials.
