UK-based VR developer nDreams has received a $3 million investment round from Mercia Technologies, a UK-based technology-focused investment business.
The investment will come in two investments of $1.5 million each, and sees Mercia Technologies doubling its investment in nDreams during 2015 after it invested $2.75 million in January.
The funding will be used to finish developing the studio’s latest VR game, The Assembly, due out in 2016, and hire new senior talent to help with development.
Year One for VR
“I’m delighted to be strengthening our relationship with Mercia Technologies. This additional investment allows us to extend our capabilities as a publisher and accelerate our efforts as we head into 2016 – the big ‘Year One’ for VR,” said Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO of nDreams.
“With these new hires, we’ve raised the bar in terms of our studio’s skillset, knowledge base and quality of our future output.”
O'Luanaigh was a speaker at our Pocket Gamer Connects London 2015 event, and you can still grab tickets for our next PGC London event in January 2016.
