PlatformaVR to open free-roaming VR location in Las Vegas this month

Free-roaming games are a Holy Grail of VR entertainment. And location-based entertainment centres are also proving popular for VR experiences all over the world. Put the two together and what have you got? PlatformaVR has already shown over 10,000 people worldwide...

And now it's bringing its free-roaming VR experience to Las Vegas! The Moscow-based startup chose huge electronics show CES (also in Las Vegas) this week to announce the opening of its first US location. It's kicked off at the Avenue Shoppes at Bally’s Las Vegas this month to coincide with CES.

“We are thrilled to bring our virtual reality experience to Las Vegas, one of the world’s most famous entertainment destinations,” commented PlatformaVR CEO Ilya Kuzyuk. “PlatformaVR offers fully immersive and smart content filled with social interaction. Players can move freely in the space without the hindrance of wires and work together to navigate through our games.”

Three games will be available at the brand-new 800-square-foot location: The Arrival, a sci-fi saga; The Poisoner, a detective story where two police officers investigate mysterious murders; and MATCH, a high-adrenaline PvP combat game. Each game varies in duration from 10 to 30 minutes and supports teams of up to four players. Each player will use state-of-the-art VR equipment including HTC VIVE Pro headset and HP VR Backpack.

PlatformaVR has been developing entertainment content in virtual reality since 2017 with over 10,000 people having already played its titles at the company’s global locations. The company's known for its smart social content where the key components are collaboration, puzzle-solving, and an adventurous spirit.

PlatformaVR games are already popular in other territories.

“The opening of Vegas VR powered by PlatformaVR demonstrates our strong commitment to expanding our portfolio of immersive experiences,” said Shaun Swanger, senior vice president of attractions, retail and leasing for Caesars Entertainment. “We believe that the new location at Bally’s Las Vegas is equipped with the most advanced virtual reality technologies and is the perfect fit with our strategy.”
