Niantic, the developer that surprised the world with its breakout AR hit, Pokemon GO for Nintendo, is turning its attention to another juggernaut of entertainment as it steps into the magical world of JK Rowling's Harry Potter.
The new mobile game will be called Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and is expected to build upon the studio's experience of location-based and Augmented Reality features from both Pokemon GO and Ingress before it.
According to TechCrunch, the game is being co-developed by Warner Bros. Interactive through its new subsidiary, the appropriately named Portkey Games.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is set for a 2018 release date.
