Resident Evil 7 Best VR/AR At The Game Awards

Capcom’s first-person reimagining of the 21-year-old series continues to succeed, winning Best VR/AR Game at The Game Awards 2017. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard topped the list, which was made up of strong VR nominees:

Every game on the shortlist is available for PS VR, with the exception on Oculus exclusive, Lone Echo. Overall, 11.94% of RE 7’s players chose to experience the game in VR, up nearly 3% from January. Capcom earned a spot in our round-up of 25 developers to watch this time last year in the build-up to the game’s release, with the title’s end of console exclusive approaching next month.

Unfortunately, not a single VR/AR title was nominated for any other category of the ceremony. We’ll have our fingers crossed for a VR/AR blow-out next year. What’s that? $2.5 billion investment in the last year? You don’t say…
