Meta’s latest update to its SDK 2.3 now included support for SteamVR. Developers who have been creating SteamVR apps with the OpenVR API can transfer those experiences to Meta 2 without having to recode.
This integration is the first step in a program to ensure developers can quickly port their content into Meta 2 and render high-quality 3D holograms in the headset. In the short term, Meta will offer rendering that allows you to see your holograms with SteamVR support, but integration is planned for hand and optimised tracking similar to the current SDK.
